View SpecificationsFrequently Asked Questions
Find answers to common questions about our metallic AODD pumps.
What is the difference between SS304 and SS316L?
SS316L contains molybdenum which provides better corrosion resistance, particularly against chlorides and acidic environments. SS316L is recommended for marine, chemical, and pharmaceutical applications where superior corrosion resistance is required.
When should I choose Super Duplex material?
Super Duplex is recommended for extreme environments including seawater applications, sour gas service, high chloride environments, and aggressive chemical processing. It offers superior strength and corrosion resistance compared to standard stainless steel grades.
Are these pumps ATEX certified?
Yes, select models are available with ATEX certification for use in potentially explosive atmospheres. The metallic construction provides inherent grounding capability, making them suitable for hazardous area installations.
What is the maximum viscosity these pumps can handle?
Metallic AODD pumps can handle fluids up to 10,000 cPs (centipoise) depending on model and operating conditions. For higher viscosities, larger port sizes and higher air pressure may be required.
Can these pumps run dry without damage?
Yes, AODD pumps can run dry indefinitely without damage as there are no rotating parts that generate heat. This makes them suitable for applications where dry running may occur during normal operation.
