An Openwell Submersible Pump is a centrifugal pump designed to operate while fully submerged in water inside open wells, tanks, reservoirs, and sumps. Unlike borewell pumps, these pumps are installed horizontally or vertically in open water sources where the water level remains relatively stable.

The pump and motor are integrated into a single compact unit, which eliminates the need for priming and ensures efficient water transfer. Since the pump operates underwater, it benefits from natural cooling provided by the surrounding liquid, resulting in longer motor life and improved performance.
